The venture aims to help grassroots students pursue diversified careers with knowledge of sustainable development, STEM and social entrepreneurship acquired in operating Smart Farm Labs.

Social Problem

  • Students from low-income families generally lack knowledge of sustainable development, STEM and social entrepreneurship
  • Low-income families are often found as nutrition deficient as they cannot afford fresh produce

Social Innovation

  • The project is a student-led mini social enterprise in which students can put knowledge they learnt through the programme in practice
  • This project will leverage school-based smart farms to produce fresh vegetables for low-income families nearby

Expected Social Impact

  • Establish 10 sets of "Smart Farm Labs" in 10 secondary schools
  • Provide training on "Smart Farm Lab" operation for teachers and staff
  • Provide training on ESG, STEM, sustainability and entrepreneurship skills to 1,000 grassroots secondary school students
  • Enable 1,000 grassroots secondary school students to operate the Smart Farm Lab" on a weekly basis to cultivate 16,000 to 20,000 fresh vegetables every month
  • Donate 6,000 to 8,000 fresh and nutritious vegetables monthly to 500 low-income families
