This project aims to provide and practise customised 1-1 parent-child trainings based on ABA to low-income parents and their 2-6 years old child with SEN.

Beneficiaries:
Service Types:

Social Problem

  • Under severe lack of support and professional resources from the government and community, children with SEN will often miss the golden opportunity of early intervention due to the long waiting time for assessment and intervention service
  • Monthly costs for families with children with autism spectrum disorder become a heavy financial burden for parents

Social Innovation

  • This project will help to fill the gap by providing direct and individualized support to parents from low-income families and their children with SEN with free ABA parent-child training. Other caregivers from the same family will also be invited to join the training sessions to synchronize parenting skills across the family
  • Sustaining consultation platform will provide the opportunity for parents to meet with each other and build rapport
  • Online consultation meetings will be set up for parent groups together with behavior analysts once a month

Expected Social Impact

  • Organize 16 parent talks with a total of 400 parents participate.
  • Provide assessment, customized 1-1 parent child training, and evaluation to 110 low-income families (including 110 parents and their 110 SEN children)
  • Organize 58 online consultation sessions for parents who have completed the trainings.
