“Stage Flight” Youth Performing Arts and Production Training and Internship Program

Intensive training in performing arts and backstage production will be provided to youth, followed by public performances production. Professionals from the industry will be invited to build connections with the youth and bring the youth a diverse career path.

Social Problem

  • Grassroots youth lack opportunities to receive training in performing arts both on stage and behind the scenes.
  • The cost of performing arts learning is high, and there are very few slots available for courses in backstage work. There is also a lack of opportunities to connect with employers.

Social Innovation

  • Programs targeting grassroots youth generally focus on basic skills such as language proficiency and service industry skills, with little emphasis on the performing arts.
  • This program brings together training in various aspects of performing arts and backstage production, as well as providing on-the-job training opportunities.

Expected Social Impact

  • Provide 74 youths with 47 sessions of performing training.
  • 74 trainees will engage in 3 public performances (venues include school hall/ community hall, hotel or HKCEC, and theatre).
  • Invite 20 professionals in the industry to interact with the trainees to help the youths broaden their network and increase their job opportunities in the future.
